Engineering Procedure Manual Revision 0 Chief Engineering Officer - Lt. Kyle Gannon When you are to first power up a ship, you are to check the Configuration of the main sources of energy: Main, Warp, Auxiliary, and Emergency (eng trans status). There should be no power listed in the transferal list. From there, you are to allocate 4805 units of energy from Main to Warp. Then you are to allocate all of the energy from Auxiliary to Warp (eng trans main to warp=4805 and eng trans aux to warp=6000, respectively). You may wish to hold this step off until the ship begins to enter warp speeds because if the new settings are left like that too long, it could cause an engine overload and the destruction of the ship. Next, you will check the fuel status (eng fuel status). It should contain enough fuel for the mission. Notify the Captain or commanding officer of the status regardless. Once the available fuel level drops below 8000 units, it is the responsibility of the Engineering department to notify Spacedock that we are in need of fuel. Then, just to be safe, check systems for damage (eng dmg status). If any systems are damaged, notify Captain immediately and assign damage teams to them (eng dmg team to ship system). The final step is to set up all necessary ship systems. All you have to do is fully power up long and short range sensors (eng pwr full=system). Communications is a vital system but it can receive messages without power allocated to it, so to save fuel it will only be powered up when necessary. During a mission, it is the responsibility of the Engineering Department to monitor all ships systems, and report any anomolies immediately to the Bridge. The Engineering Department does have the authority to order the ship to a Full Stop if it is deemed necessary. After any damaged systems are repaired, take teams off of them (eng dmg team to nothing). And after the ship is docked or idle, reallocate all energy back to its original location and power off all systems currently powered (eng pwr off=system). Once the ship has been powered down, notify the Bridge so all consoles can be locked down. The Engineering Department is also responsible for general ship maintenance, including the installation of comm panels, or any structural repairs to the ship. If the repairs are too extensive, it is the responsibility of the Engineering Department to make arrangements for the repairs at a starbase.
